Senior/Lead Software Engineer - (Network Systems)
Arista Networks is seeking a Senior/Lead Software Engineer to join our Network Systems team. In this role, you will collaborate with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to design and develop innovative features that enhance the performance and efficiency of Arista's hardware. Your work will involve managing hardware components on switches and routers, including temperature sensors, fan controllers, power controllers, storage devices, FPGAs, NICs, and PCIe switches.
Key responsibilities include architecting, designing, and managing the development of new network systems features. You will develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python, contribute to functional and design specifications, and build automated tests and test infrastructure. Additionally, you will work closely with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new hardware to market and collaborate with hardware engineers to design optimal software control interfaces for managing hardware components.
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 8 years of experience, an MS with 6 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 3 years of experience, or equivalent work experience. Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python, as well as knowledge of UNIX or Linux, is required. Hands-on experience in the design and development of hardware device drivers and/or system management utilities is essential. Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems, and experience working with low-level hardware components, are pluses.
The base salary for this role ranges from $140,000 to $210,000 annually. In addition to competitive compensation, Arista offers discretionary bonuses and equity.
