Senior Lawyer, Funds & Asset Management, Luxembourg
Clifford Chance is seeking a Senior Lawyer to join its Funds & Asset Management team in Luxembourg. This team is a market leader, advising on a comprehensive range of funds, including alternative funds such as private equity, hedge funds, real estate, debt, and infrastructure funds, as well as UCITS. The team comprises three partners and approximately 40 lawyers from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, with English as the primary working language.
In this role, the Senior Lawyer will be responsible for structuring and documenting both regulated and unregulated funds throughout their lifecycle, from pre-launch to post-closing. Additional responsibilities include advising financial service providers, providing guidance on distribution channels, handling corporate and transactional services, managing client relationships, supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, and contributing to knowledge management initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in alternative funds and UCITS, preferably gained within an international law firm. Experience advising clients on depository and administration matters is essential. Admission to the 'Liste II' or 'Liste IV' is preferred. A strong knowledge of Luxembourg investment fund structures, including UCITS, SIFs, RAIFs, SICARs, and unregulated funds, is required. Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French, German, or Luxembourgish is considered an asset. The candidate should demonstrate dynamism, team spirit, and excellent communication skills, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues at all levels.
