Senior IT Systems Engineer
Garner Health is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our Business Technology - Corporate Engineering team. This role focuses on transforming complex, cross-functional workflows into streamlined, automated systems that scale with the company's growth. The position is based in our New York City office, with an expectation to work on-site three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
The Senior IT Systems Engineer will identify and automate high-impact operational workflows across onboarding, offboarding, access management, and service delivery. Responsibilities include replacing manual processes with scalable, API-driven systems, building and maintaining integrations across various platforms, developing internal tools and automation, and applying infrastructure-as-code to manage system configurations. Additionally, the role involves incorporating AI into workflows to enhance efficiency and designing security workflows that enforce least-privilege and auditability.
The ideal candidate has 4–7+ years of experience in IT, platform engineering, automation, or similar roles, with strong scripting or programming abilities in languages such as Python, Go, Node.js, or PowerShell. Experience in building API-driven automation across multiple systems, designing workflows that span various tools and teams, and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform are essential. A desire to be part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with urgency and accountability is also important.
