Senior Electrical Technician

The Senior Electrical Technician at BESIX plays a pivotal role within the Fast Response Crew, ensuring rapid and effective responses to electrical emergencies. BESIX, a leading Belgian construction company operating in the Middle East, is renowned for its expertise in commercial and residential buildings, infrastructure, and marine-related projects. This position is integral to maintaining the high standards and safety protocols that BESIX upholds across its diverse operations.

Key responsibilities include performing immediate electrical isolations using Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, conducting rapid fault assessments with specialized diagnostic equipment, and establishing electrical safety zones. The technician will oversee the installation and replacement of motors, motor starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and soft starters. Additionally, duties encompass supervising cable termination, switchgear installation, panel wiring, and control system integration, ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and standards.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification, with certification from a vocational or trade school preferred. A minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar role is required, along with strong knowledge of 11kV/6.6kV and 415V/380V systems. Expertise in AC motors, VFDs, soft starters, and motor control centers is essential. Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and familiarity with PLC systems, SCADA integration, and motor control circuits are also necessary. A valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
