Senior Director/Director of Government Affairs (Bangkok-based, Relocation Provided)
Agoda is seeking a Director or Senior Director of Global Government Affairs to lead its efforts in navigating complex regulatory landscapes across e-commerce, data, taxation, fintech, AI, and travel. This strategic leadership role involves collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to set global and regional priorities, engage with governmental bodies, and position Agoda as a trusted partner worldwide. The position is based in Bangkok, with relocation assistance provided.
Key responsibilities include building and leading Agoda's Global Government Affairs function, monitoring and influencing policy developments in priority markets, and proactively engaging with authorities and industry bodies to shape business-enabling policy outcomes. The role also involves partnering with internal teams to develop coordinated responses to regulatory challenges, advising senior leaders on government interactions, managing external advisors, and designing KPIs aligned with company objectives.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in public policy or government affairs, preferably within technology, e-commerce, travel, hospitality, or fintech sectors. They should demonstrate the ability to build and scale functions in complex global organizations, possess strong business strategy and regulatory risk understanding, and have experience working across multiple geographies, with a preference for Asia. Exceptional communication skills in English are required, with proficiency in Asian languages considered an advantage. A bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree preferred.
