Senior Data Scientist - Product Analytics
The Senior Data Scientist - Product Analytics role at Intercom is an opportunity to join the Research, Analytics & Data Science (RAD) team, which leverages data to drive evidence-based decision-making. This team of data scientists and product researchers focuses on unlocking actionable insights about customers, products, and the business to build customer empathy, inform product strategy, and develop products that deliver real value.
In this position, you will collaborate with product teams to identify critical questions and provide data-driven answers. Responsibilities include working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop key product success metrics, set targets, measure outcomes, and size opportunities. Additionally, you will design, build, and update end-to-end data pipelines, refine existing data sources, and partner with product researchers to build a comprehensive understanding of customers, products, and the business. Influencing the product roadmap and strategy through experimentation, exploratory analysis, and quantitative research is also a key aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience working with data to solve problems and drive evidence-based decisions. Proficiency in SQL and experience applying analytical and statistical approaches to problem-solving are essential. A proven track record of initiating and delivering actionable analysis and insights with minimal supervision is required. Excellent communication skills, a strong growth mindset, a sense of ownership, and innate passion and curiosity are also important. Experience with a scientific computing language such as R or Python is necessary.
