Senior Data Engineer
Tebra is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate specialized data infrastructure that powers the company's intelligent features. This role involves collaborating closely with Machine Learning Engineers to transform raw healthcare data into high-quality training sets and real-time inference features. As a hands-on position, the Senior Data Engineer will own large data subsystems, translating business requirements into software solutions that accelerate AI deployment.
Key responsibilities include architecting and writing software to solve complex business problems, specifically designing scalable pipelines for feature extraction, training data generation, and model monitoring logs. The role also involves owning and serving as a Subject Matter Expert for large software systems, such as the organization's Feature Store or Data Lakehouse, ensuring data availability for both experimentation and production inference. Additionally, the Senior Data Engineer will monitor data pipelines in production, detect data drift or quality anomalies, and implement automated recovery systems to ensure the reliability and freshness of features and training data over time.
Candidates should have over five years of professional software development experience, with deep technical expertise in areas such as Big Data Processing, Distributed Systems, and Data Modeling. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, focusing on supporting analytics or data science teams, is required. Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL is essential, with the ability to write production-grade code for data transformation and orchestration. Experience with modern data infrastructure relevant to AI, such as Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and Vector Databases, is also necessary.
The compensation for this role is competitive, with a base salary range of $1,420,000 to $1,625,000 USD annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
