Senior Counsel - Product & Regulatory (Investment Products)
Mercury is seeking a Senior Counsel to lead the legal strategy for its investment products, including Mercury Treasury and Mercury Invest. This role involves collaborating with product teams from ideation through launch, ensuring compliance with complex regulatory frameworks, and contributing to the company's mission of reinventing banking for the modern age.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary legal advisor for Mercury's investment products, supporting new feature development, drafting disclosures, advising on marketing content, and addressing operational matters with regulatory impacts. The role requires building relationships across product, compliance, risk, engineering, and operations teams to integrate legal perspectives early in the product development process.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on non-deposit investment products. Familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act, Securities Act, Investment Company Act, Regulation Best Interest, Form CRS/ADV, and FINRA rules is essential. Exceptional communication skills, a proactive sense of ownership, and a strong working knowledge of AI applications within legal roles are also required.
