Senior Counsel
LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its expanding legal team. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, this role involves providing comprehensive legal support across product development, privacy, corporate affairs, and employment matters within a global SaaS environment. The Senior Counsel will collaborate with various departments to navigate legal challenges and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key responsibilities include advising product, engineering, and go-to-market teams on data privacy, intellectual property, and compliance issues. The role also entails drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of legal documents, such as corporate agreements, IP licenses, and marketing contracts. Additionally, the Senior Counsel will contribute to developing and maintaining legal templates and processes to enhance efficiency and consistency across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. A minimum of eight years of legal experience, including in-house or client-facing roles, is required. Experience advising SaaS companies and a solid understanding of data privacy, intellectual property, and technology transactions are essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Compensation for this position varies based on geographic location. For candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metropolitan Area, Boston, or Seattle, the salary range is $152,900 to $210,210. In areas such as Los Angeles, Austin, and Chicago, the range is $137,600 to $189,200. For all other U.S. locations, the range is $129,900 to $178,640.
