Senior Construction Manager
The Senior Construction Manager at Public Storage is responsible for overseeing the design, permitting, and construction of company facilities across the United States. This role involves managing a diverse range of projects, including both new developments and renovations, ensuring they align with the company's standards and objectives. The position requires collaboration with various departments, including real estate and site acquisition teams, to facilitate seamless project execution.
Key responsibilities include conducting site analyses and providing recommendations to the real estate department, leading due diligence activities such as reviewing surveys and environmental reports, and supervising design and engineering consultants from initial due diligence through site plan approval and construction. The Senior Construction Manager is also tasked with developing project budgets and schedules, monitoring construction progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, and maintaining communication with all stakeholders involved in the planning and construction process.
The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of construction management experience in a multi-location organization, preferably overseeing ground-up retail or commercial construction projects with significant site work. A strong background in heavy construction, including both new builds and renovations, is essential. Candidates should possess excellent project accounting skills, including budget development and contract management, and demonstrate strong negotiation and communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Project, is required. Experience with projects in Florida and/or the East Coast is preferred.
