Senior Commercial Counsel
As a Senior Commercial Counsel at xAI, you will lead the company's commercial contracting efforts, focusing on negotiating high-value enterprise agreements and commercial contracts. This role involves close collaboration with Sales, Business Development, and Product teams to support xAI's mission of advancing AI-driven human scientific discovery. The position is full-time and based on-site in Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Austin, or New York.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex technology agreements, and working with cross-functional teams to establish commercial legal strategies that align with business objectives. You will also design legal structures and operations to facilitate the seamless sale of xAI's products while appropriately mitigating risks. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to various tasks within the legal department as needed.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of legal experience, preferably through a combination of roles at innovative technology companies and top-tier law firms. In-house experience as commercial counsel is preferred, along with expertise in intellectual property and technology transactions. A strong understanding of the revenue-generation process and a practical, commercially driven approach to legal issues are essential. Candidates should possess a JD and be licensed or qualified to practice law in California or New York, with a commitment to being in-office five days per week.
