Senior Commercial Counsel
Giga Energy is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This role is integral to our operations, focusing on the full lifecycle of commercial contracts, including construction agreements, equipment procurement, and power purchase deals. The position offers an opportunity to be deeply embedded in the business, contributing directly to our rapid growth and success in the AI infrastructure sector.
The Senior Commercial Counsel will be responsible for identifying and managing legal risks in commercial transactions, drafting and negotiating a high volume of diverse contracts, and serving as a strategic legal partner to various teams such as business development, procurement, construction, and finance. Additionally, the role involves building and maintaining contract templates and standard terms to enhance operational efficiency, supporting financing and real estate transactions, managing outside counsel relationships, and developing legal processes as the company scales.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. A minimum of four years of commercial transactional experience, either in a law firm or in-house environment, is required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in negotiating complex commercial contracts, particularly in construction, energy, real estate, or infrastructure sectors. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment are essential.
