Senior Collections Specialist

Upstart is seeking a Senior Collections Specialist to join our team dedicated to revolutionizing the collections industry by emphasizing empathy and results. As a Senior Collections Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include engaging with borrowers to develop personalized repayment plans, negotiating effectively to bring accounts current, and ensuring compliance with relevant collections laws and best practices. You will be expected to exceed key performance indicators such as dollars collected per productive hour and promise-to-pay commitments kept within seven days of right-party contact.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a collections role at a financial institution, demonstrating success in meeting performance goals. Strong negotiation skills, the ability to handle challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy, and familiarity with FDCPA, TCPA, and other relevant collections laws are essential. Experience in auto collections and managing high-risk or delinquent accounts is preferred.
