Senior Cloud Platform Engineer
Graphcore is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join their Cloud Platform Team in Bristol, UK. This role involves developing and deploying cloud services on Graphcore's advanced AI systems, collaborating closely with Software Platform, Datacentre Operations, and Product Development teams. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the integration, validation, performance benchmarking, optimization, and development of high-performance AI solutions, including both in-house AI systems and off-the-shelf high-performance servers, switches, and storage solutions.
Key responsibilities include developing and operating end-user services on private clouds, supporting internal users, and translating end-user and product requirements into deployed services. The role also involves building automation to collect and analyze metrics from cloud services, maintaining and operating AI systems at peak performance in private clouds, configuring and testing new AI hardware and systems using Continuous Deployment and Infrastructure-as-Code, and integrating third-party products into the Cloud Reference Design.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant subject, along with solid software engineering or IT experience. Essential skills include managing on-premises or private-cloud environments, working in AGILE and SCRUM frameworks, strong Linux scripting and system administration abilities, experience with version control systems and Continuous Integration pipelines, and a solid understanding of cloud service technologies. Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code automation tools, container deployment and management tools, and solutions for monitoring and observability is also required.
