Senior Backend Software Engineer | MEP
Wellhub is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their Marketing Engineering & Platform (MEP) team, focusing on the B2B Acquisition squad. This remote position is open to candidates within Brazil. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining high-throughput backend applications in Kotlin and Go, operating within a polyglot, event-driven architecture. The team collaborates closely with Product, Marketing, and Sales to build scalable solutions that enhance the SMB customer acquisition journey.
Key responsibilities include owning critical SMB acquisition funnel services end-to-end, driving event-driven architecture using Kafka, and ensuring data consistency and resilience across multiple services. The engineer will also work on scaling integrations with platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, and Segment, and establish observability practices using tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into technical solutions and mentoring peers through code reviews are also integral parts of the role.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in backend software engineering with proficiency in Kotlin, Go, or Java. Experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and message brokers like Kafka is essential. A solid background in managing containerized microservices on AWS and Kubernetes, along with expertise in data modeling and database management using PostgreSQL, Redis, and DynamoDB, is required. Fluency in Portuguese for daily interactions and professional proficiency in English for documentation and cross-team communication are mandatory.
