Senior Application Engineer, CNC Machining
Xometry is seeking a Senior Application Engineer specializing in CNC Machining to join our team in North Bethesda, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and ensuring on-time order fulfillment. As a Senior Application Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include analyzing engineering models and drawings to define manufacturing operations, making accurate cost estimations considering materials and tooling, and collaborating closely with machinists, quality engineers, and management to meet customer requirements. You will also be involved in sourcing materials and finishes, as well as estimating costs for prototypes and various production volumes.
The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in a CNC machining quoting environment, proficiency in CAD, and extensive knowledge of CNC machining technologies such as multi-axis milling, turning, welding, grinding, and EDM. Experience with programming and setting up CNC machines, familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and strong technical communication skills are essential.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $86,000 to $111,000 annually, plus commission, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
