Senior Accountant

WHAT YOU'LL DO

-  Oversee the accounting close, accounts payable (payment requests, bank payments, etc.), accounts receivable (processing of customer invoices and uncollected balances), Tax, and Treasury

- Prepare payroll files for remittance to our external payroll provider

- Manage the organization's tax affairs, including and not limited to residence tax, year-end tax adjustment, statutory report for Income/withholding tax, in coordination with the external tax firm for specialist advice

- Coordinate with the company’s financial institutions on treasury-related matters

- Manage contracts with contractors and vendors, and assist with requisitions and invoicing in our purchase order system

- Support non-standard customer contract workflows with legal and Deal Desk

- Ad hoc projects supporting various global finance team initiatives

- Hybrid work environment: in our Tokyo, Japan office 1-2 times per week

WHAT WE BELIEVE ARE IMPORTANT TRAITS FOR THIS ROLE

-  Strong English and Japanese communication skills (verbal and written), both with the internal customers and external providers

- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience

- Experience with NetSuite and HRIS Software

- Self-driven and can thrive as the only accounting specialist in the region with minimal supervision

- Experience working in a startup or a US-headquartered company is a plus

- Experience in owning the Payroll processes and policies is a plus
