Search Lead, Media Management and delivery
The Global Search Lead at WPP Media is a senior client and capability-focused role that sits at the intersection of performance, channels, and solutions functions within the company. This position is responsible for evolving clients' search growth plans across paid search, SEO, and the emerging landscape of AI-driven and generative search. The role blends deep technical expertise with the development of plans that advance client maturity and deliver against growth objectives.
Key responsibilities include leading clients through an advancing search agenda with a broad understanding of the entire discovery and media ecosystem. The Global Search Lead will create and develop a sophisticated global search team operating model across paid, organic, retail, and AI-driven search. Additionally, the role involves integrating all WPP capabilities, solutions, and search disciplines linked to growth, and leading client growth by crafting compelling narratives that connect client ambitions to practical search solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading global search accounts and managing stakeholders at the most senior levels, up to C-level. They should have a proven track record in managing, leading, inspiring, and integrating dynamic search and performance teams across both agency and client environments. Expertise in paid search, SEO, retail/commerce search, and the emerging field of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI answer engines is essential. A working knowledge of adjacent performance disciplines such as social, programmatic, and affiliates from an integration perspective is also required.
