Eurofins CDMO Alphora Inc. is seeking an experienced Scientist II specializing in Separation Science to join their Analytical Development team. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and validating analytical methods for biologics across research, preclinical, and GMP environments. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Analytical Development, the scientist will play a pivotal role in shaping analytical strategies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance diverse biologic programs.
Key responsibilities include supporting the testing and characterization of biopharmaceuticals such as monoclonal antibodies, ADCs, fusion proteins, and recombinant proteins. The scientist will lead analytical method transfers, development, and validation for both drug substances and products. Additionally, the role involves planning and executing laboratory work independently, troubleshooting methodologies, and clearly communicating results to internal teams and external clients.
The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related biological science with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. A comprehensive understanding of analytical techniques for biologics, demonstrated expertise in developing and validating separation methods (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS, CE), and proficiency in Empower 3 software are essential. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams are also required.
The starting annual base compensation for this position is $85,000 CAD.
