Scientist I, Downstream Process Development - Biologics - Eurofins CDMO Alphora, Inc.
Eurofins CDMO Alphora Inc. is seeking a motivated Scientist I to join our Downstream Process Development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and optimization of purification and bioconjugation processes for a variety of therapeutic proteins and novel biologics. Eurofins CDMO Alphora provides contract research and development services to global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, focusing on developing processes and manufacturing bulk drug substances and finished dosage products for clinical trials and commercial requirements.
As a Scientist I, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in downstream processing principles and best practices. Your responsibilities will include designing and optimizing chromatography, tangential flow filtration (TFF), and filtration studies, as well as contributing to protein bioconjugation development activities. You will draft and review technical documents, communicate research findings to internal teams and project stakeholders, and support continuous improvement initiatives to deliver robust, scalable, and cost-effective downstream processes for clients.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience or a PhD. A strong working knowledge of protein chemistry and protein purification is essential, along with experience in developing and executing chromatography process steps using UNICORN control software. Proficiency in ultrafiltration and diafiltration studies using TFF, understanding of aseptic techniques, and knowledge of bioprocess engineering principles underlying effective scale-up design are also required. Familiarity with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in biomanufacturing is important.
