Sample Collector/Phlebotomist

Eurofins is seeking a Sample Collector/Phlebotomist to join our Sample Collections team in the Hull area on an ad hoc, casual basis. This role involves providing professional hair, blood, and DNA sample collection services for family law cases and childcare proceedings, representing Lextox, a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff.

Key responsibilities include attending pre-booked appointments at various locations within a two-hour radius of your home, maintaining and developing excellent relationships with clients and donors, implementing the requirements of the company's Quality Management System to help maintain ISO17025 accreditation, ensuring all collections are undertaken in a safe and low-risk environment, and providing statements of truth at the point of collection.

Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and language skills, hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business use, and have a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in phlebotomy, with proficiency in various venepuncture techniques, particularly vacutainer and butterfly methods. Experience in working within the NHS or Blood Service and in collecting hair and DNA samples is desirable, though in-house training is provided for the latter.

Assignments are generally within a two-hour radius of the collector's home address by car. Successful applicants will be paid on a per-collection basis, with appropriate travel expenses covered, including fuel, parking fees, and sample postage. Collections typically take place at solicitor's offices, local authority offices, or donors' homes, with appropriate PPE provided. An enhanced DBS check and Hepatitis B vaccination are essential requirements for this role.
