Sales Engineer
Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team in Germany. This role is integral to our pre-sales and sales support efforts, focusing on driving customer adoption and successfully closing opportunities. As a pioneer in application security, Black Duck provides comprehensive solutions that enable organizations to build secure, high-quality software efficiently.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with account executives to assess prospects, understand business challenges, and identify high-potential opportunities for Black Duck solutions. Your responsibilities will include building trusted relationships with technical stakeholders, delivering tailored technical presentations and live demonstrations, and guiding customers through trials and proof-of-concept initiatives. Additionally, you will address technical objections proactively and develop technical proposals aligned with customer needs.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical consulting, along with a strong background in software development languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript. A solid understanding of software security tools and methodologies is essential, and certifications like CEH, CISSP, or CSSLP are considered a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills in both German and English are required, as well as a customer-focused and results-driven attitude. Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe is also necessary.
