The Rwanda Legal and Investigations Intern will support One Acre Fund's legal and investigations team in Kigali, Rwanda. One Acre Fund is a social enterprise that supplies smallholder farmers in East Africa with asset-based financing and agriculture training services to reduce hunger and poverty. The intern will assist in legal research, compliance monitoring, and investigative processes to ensure the organization's operations align with local laws and internal policies.

Key responsibilities include conducting legal research on policies, laws, and regulations relevant to the organization's activities, assisting in drafting legal documents and reports, supporting the investigations team in cases of fraud or misconduct, and helping to develop and implement compliance strategies. The intern will also collaborate with various departments to provide legal guidance and ensure adherence to legal standards.

Candidates should be recent university graduates with a degree in law or a related field, fluent in English and Kinyarwanda. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly are essential. Previous experience in legal research, compliance, or investigations is advantageous but not required.

The internship is a paid position lasting three months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. Interns will receive a modest stipend covering housing, transportation, and communication costs. Additionally, interns will participate in a one-week onboarding program and receive ongoing mentorship and training.
