Retirement Plan Administration Specialist - Freelance Project
The Retirement Plan Administration (RPA) team is responsible for compliance testing, government reporting, plan terminations, and ensuring retirement plan compliance for the company's bundled clients. This team serves as the subject matter experts on qualified retirement plan rules and operations, often acting as an internal consulting group to define and guide strategic, operational, and product improvements across the organization. The team ensures cross-functional alignment in executing the annual retirement plan administration process, overseeing client compliance, and driving product enhancements.
In this role, the specialist will conduct year-end testing for defined contribution plans and prepare Form 5500 filings for terminating plans, including EZ, SF, and large plans. Responsibilities also include drafting termination resolutions and maintaining clear communication with clients throughout the termination process to ensure a smooth and compliant conclusion of their retirement plans.
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in retirement plan administration, with a preference for those who have worked on plan terminations and/or plan documents. Excellent written and oral communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace is required, along with the ability to think analytically and operate independently within set deadlines. A team-oriented mindset, ownership, and initiative in all aspects of work are highly valued. QKA certification is preferred.
The position offers an hourly compensation of $5 and requires availability from 9 am to 6 pm Eastern Time. The role is remote, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work from various locations.
