Resident Solutions Architect - Public Sector
As a Resident Solutions Architect in Databricks' Professional Services team, you will engage with public sector clients to address their big data challenges using the Databricks platform. This role involves providing data engineering, data science, and cloud technology solutions, integrating with client systems, and delivering training to maximize the value clients derive from their data. You will report to the regional Manager/Lead and collaborate closely with various teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities include designing and building reference architectures, creating instructional materials, and operationalizing customer use cases. You will guide strategic customers through transformational big data projects, including third-party migrations and the end-to-end design, build, and deployment of industry-leading big data and AI applications. Additionally, you will consult on architecture and design, implement customer projects, and provide escalated support for operational issues.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics. Proficiency in Python or Scala is required, along with working knowledge of at least two common cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in one. Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark™ and knowledge of Spark runtime internals are essential. Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments, MLOps, and the design and deployment of performant end-to-end data architectures is also expected. Strong documentation and white-boarding skills, experience managing technical project delivery, and the ability to work with clients and manage conflicts are important. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government secret clearance are required for this position.
Databricks offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $180,656 to $248,360 USD, depending on factors such as job-related skills, experience, certifications, and location. The total compensation package may also include eligibility for an annual performance bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
