Oklo, an advanced nuclear technology company, is seeking a Regulatory Engineer to join its fuel recycling team. This role involves navigating the regulatory framework for licensing recycling and fuel fabrication facilities, as well as participating in the engineering design of these technologies. The Regulatory Engineer will develop an in-depth understanding of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements, aligning with Oklo's innovative approach to complex regulatory challenges.

Key responsibilities include researching and interpreting regulations, generating and reviewing licensing documentation, managing deliverables for various regulatory activities, and collaborating with technical staff to analyze regulatory documents. The role also involves contributing to technical reports for regulators and other external bodies, and performing design engineering work by providing technical feedback to design teams, documenting work using modern tools, and writing comprehensive technical reports.

Candidates should have experience generating, contributing to, or evaluating NRC license applications or amendments, and possess a background in a technical field. Experience with fuel fabrication or fuel cycle facilities, in either commercial or Department of Energy (DOE) contexts, is considered a bonus. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean energy, the environment, and the recycling of nuclear fuel, and is eager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.

The position offers a salary range of $85,000 to $175,000, with additional benefits including flexible time off, equity, competitive pay, and 401(k) matching. Remote employees are required to travel to headquarters in Santa Clara, CA, twice a quarter, and for the first two weeks of onboarding.
