Real Estate Associate (Senior-Level)
Ice Miller is seeking a senior-level Real Estate Associate to join our Real Estate Practice Group in New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, or Philadelphia. This role offers the opportunity to advise private equity funds, independent sponsors, developers, investors, lenders, and corporate clients on complex real estate and business transactions involving real estate. The position provides exposure to a nationally recognized team handling high-value matters across acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing.
Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating real estate purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and other real estate-related documents. The associate will lead the real estate aspects of private equity, independent sponsor, and other M&A transactions, managing sophisticated real estate transactions from term sheet through closing. Additional duties involve conducting and analyzing due diligence, including title and survey review, and assisting with the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of various financing arrangements.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials and have at least five years of experience in commercial real estate law at a law firm or in-house legal department. Experience with private equity transactions related to real estate investments and demonstrated experience in commercial leasing are essential. The role requires excellent drafting, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. An active law license in the state where the office is located and permanent work authorization in the United States are required.

Salary ranges vary by location, with New York positions offering between $315,000 and $375,000, Cleveland, Columbus, and Indianapolis positions between $207,000 and $235,000, and Chicago and Philadelphia positions between $245,000 and $297,000, based on experience, plus opportunities for discretionary and hours-based bonuses.
