Quantity Surveyor - UAE National Only

The Quantity Surveyor role at BESIX is integral to ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the tendering and pre-contract processes. This position involves close collaboration with estimators, engineers, and project teams to meticulously review tender documents, prepare precise quantity take-offs, and maintain organized documentation. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Quantity Surveyor contributes to reducing risks, avoiding costly discrepancies, and ensuring alignment between tender submissions and contract requirements.

Key responsibilities include analyzing all tender documents—such as drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements—to ensure full understanding and compliance. The role involves verifying the completeness of received documents, preparing comprehensive document indexes, and identifying any discrepancies or scope gaps in coordination with the Estimator. Additionally, the Quantity Surveyor is responsible for preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQ), performing accurate quantity take-offs based on tender drawings and 3D models, and coordinating with draftspersons to produce marked-up drawings that support detailed quantity assessments.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. While professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Candidates should have 0–5 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost control, with exposure to infrastructure or marine projects being beneficial. Proficiency in Excel is required, and familiarity with cost estimation software like CANDY is considered an advantage. Strong numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under tender deadlines are essential.
