Project Finance and Infrastructure - Associate Director/ Director (NY)
Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC (KBRA) is seeking an Associate Director/Director to join our Project Finance and Infrastructure team in New York. This role involves assigning new ratings and conducting surveillance for project finance and infrastructure entities across sectors such as energy, transportation, and social infrastructure. The successful candidate will analyze cash flows, evaluate technical project aspects, review credit documentation, transaction structures, and financial statements, and prepare internal credit reports for rating committees.
Key responsibilities include forecasting future performance using mathematical models, leading the rating process by preparing internal credit reports and submissions for rating committees, analyzing cash flows, and evaluating the legal, contractual, and technical aspects of projects. The role also involves reviewing and stressing financial models to assess credit risk, training and guiding junior team members, developing rating methodologies for new asset types and jurisdictions, facilitating client relationships with project sponsors, attending industry conferences to promote KBRA, sharing KBRA’s credit views with investors, and writing research pieces on the project finance market.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, management, or a related field, and at least five years of experience in project finance and infrastructure or as a credit risk analyst. Required experience includes performing credit analysis in a rating agency, buy-side, credit research, banking, or similar environment; utilizing financial, statistical, and economic analysis skills for financial modeling and cash flow analysis; writing research reports; presenting research and analysis to senior committee members; creating and modifying project and infrastructure finance models; and using Microsoft Excel to analyze large datasets. Additionally, at least two years of experience with deal execution or credit risk analysis of power and renewables project financings and project and infrastructure finance transactions is required. Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and general productivity is a plus.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 to $175,000, determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
