Project Electrical Engineer IV
CannonDesign is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer IV to join their multidisciplinary team, focusing on projects in education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors. This remote role is open to candidates across the United States, with a preference for those near Arlington, VA; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; St. Louis, MO; or Pittsburgh, PA.
In this role, you will design electrical systems for building construction, including lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes. Responsibilities encompass initiating project designs, leading planning sessions, and potentially serving as project manager or engineering leader. You will prepare construction documents, guide less experienced team members, conduct quality control checks, and participate in value engineering sessions. Additional duties include reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and performing site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of related experience and hold a current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States. A strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes is essential, along with the ability to work independently across all electrical disciplines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and analytical abilities are required. Experience with engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools is necessary. LEED accreditation is preferred.
The salary range for this position is $101,010 to $126,315 annually.
