Product Safety Engineer
Eurofins is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to join our team in Santa Clara, California. The Product Safety Engineer will be responsible for evaluating products against U.S., Canadian, and international safety standards, including IEC 62368-1 and IEC 61010-1. Key duties include developing and executing test plans, conducting tests such as power input, leakage current, dielectric, and temperature assessments, and preparing detailed reports. The role also involves interpreting national codes and standards, performing preliminary design reviews, and maintaining effective communication with clients and sales teams regarding project status.
Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of experience in product safety within a testing, inspection, and certification laboratory, with a strong understanding of IEC 62368-1 and IEC 61010-1 standards. A four-year degree in an engineering discipline is preferred, though a two-year engineering degree is acceptable. Essential skills include attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency in reading and understanding schematics and manufacturing instructions. The role requires up to 15% travel, and a valid driver's license is necessary.
Eurofins offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $125,000 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and paid vacation and holidays. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed.
