Product Designer 1, Client Growth
As an Associate Product Designer at BetterHelp, you will support the creation of intuitive, thoughtful experiences that help millions of people access mental health care. You will work closely with senior designers and cross-functional partners to design user flows, interfaces, and prototypes that address user needs and drive measurable product impact. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to grow, learn, and contribute to end-to-end product development from discovery to launch and iteration.
Key responsibilities include creating user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes that address clear user and business needs. You will conduct lightweight user research and usability testing to explore pain points and validate concepts. Additionally, you will identify UI/UX issues across product surfaces and propose pragmatic improvements. Collaborating with engineers, you will write clear design specifications to support smooth handoff and implementation. Working cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Engineering teams, you will define problems and contribute to new feature delivery. Leveraging qualitative and quantitative data, you will iterate on shipped experiences to improve performance. Participation in design critiques and team rituals, contributing to shared standards and best practices, is also expected. Supporting documentation and maintenance of design patterns, in partnership with senior designers and design system contributors, is part of the role.
The position requires 1–2+ years of experience in product design or related roles. A portfolio showcasing user flows, interface design, prototypes, and shipped work is essential. Familiarity with Figma and modern design tools is necessary. Curiosity and eagerness to understand user behavior, mental models, and product constraints are important. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality are required. The ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints is crucial. Comfort iterating quickly with feedback from users, product managers, engineers, and data partners is expected.
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Benefits include remote work with regular in-person bonding experiences sponsored by the company, a holistic perks program (including free therapy, employee wellness, and more), excellent health, dental, and vision coverage, and 401k benefits with employer matching contribution. The company provides any piece of hardware or software that will make you happy and productive, and offers an awesome community of co-workers.
