Product Design Director

Intercom is seeking a Product Design Director to lead the design team focused on developing Fin, our AI Customer Agent. This role involves driving the design strategy and execution for Fin, ensuring it delivers exceptional customer experiences. As a key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate closely with product and engineering leaders to shape the future of AI-driven customer support solutions.

In this position, you will be responsible for leading and growing a high-performing design team, hiring and mentoring designers at all levels. You will oversee the execution of design initiatives across the Fin product line, ensuring excellence in interaction and visual design. Partnering with product and engineering leadership, you will align on priorities, make trade-offs, and drive the team to ship high-quality software efficiently.

The ideal candidate has experience leading and growing design teams in product-first companies, with a proven track record of hiring, coaching, and developing designers. You should have a strong visual sensibility, high standards for craft, and an eye for detail. Demonstrated product taste and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-changing environments are essential. Experience in AI-driven product design is a plus.
