Privacy and Security Counsel
Roblox is seeking a Privacy & Security Counsel to join its Privacy & Security Legal team in San Mateo, CA. This role focuses on providing legal expertise in security matters, offering guidance on laws, regulations, incidents, and policies. The position operates on a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday.
Key responsibilities include offering subject-matter expertise on global security and privacy laws, engaging with security teams during incidents, supporting security compliance initiatives, and providing cross-functional legal advice. The role involves translating complex legal analyses into actionable guidance for both legal and security teams, and continuously improving incident response policies to meet global data privacy and security standards.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in data security, privacy, and governance, with expertise in U.S. and global data protection laws. Knowledge of security regulations such as GDPR, NIS2, CCPA, COPPA, CA SB 553, NIST CSF, and PCI is essential. Experience working with Information Security teams, handling security incidents, and implementing global data protection requirements is required. An active membership in at least one U.S. state bar is necessary, with California Bar admission preferred.
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $211,760 to $252,210 USD annually. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
