Principal Power Engineer
Graphcore is seeking a Principal Power Engineer to define the architecture of power delivery components from grid to chip. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware developers, and data center operations, to ensure the infrastructure meets customer requirements and achieves high standards of performance, reliability, and scalability.
Key responsibilities include providing thought leadership and design for power delivery systems, establishing a power roadmap in collaboration with vendors, specifying hardware and firmware for rack-level power components, setting data center power policies, ensuring IT power robustness against grid disturbances, and developing new technologies to increase efficiency. The role also involves guiding power equipment manufacturers and engineering teams on testing and validation procedures, developing hardware prototypes, resolving complex power hardware and firmware issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with specialized knowledge in Power Engineering. They should have demonstrated experience in power system architecture, design, and development, as well as experience with rack-level hardware design, including servers, storage, networking, and power distribution. Proficiency in power hardware and firmware development and debugging, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and teamwork abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential.
