Principal Post Silicon Validation Engineer (Bringup)
Graphcore is seeking a Principal Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to join their Architecture and Validation team in Austin, Texas. This role focuses on validating high-performance AI chips and platforms, contributing to the company's mission of advancing artificial intelligence computing systems. In this position, you will plan, design, develop, and debug silicon validation tests in bare-metal C/C++ on FPGA/Emulator prior to first silicon. Responsibilities include deploying and debugging validation tests on first silicon, developing automated test frameworks and regression test suites in Python, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will also work with Validation and Production Test engineering peers to implement best practices and continuous improvements to test methodologies, analyze test results to identify and debug failures, and contribute to shared test and validation infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in bare-metal or embedded C/C++, a solid understanding of digital ASICs, and proficiency in Python and Linux. Essential skills include being highly motivated, a self-starter, and a team player, with the ability to work across teams and programming languages to find root causes of complex issues. Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills are also required. Desirable skills include driver-level experience with technologies such as PCIe, Ethernet, memory technologies (LPDDR, DDR, HBM), and other peripherals like I2C, I3C, and SPI. Knowledge of mixed-signal building blocks, experience with Arm CPUs, System IP, debug tools, AMBA protocols, and an understanding of machine learning applications and their workloads are highly desirable.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $241,100 to $326,100, along with phantom equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
