Principal, People Operations
Hut 8 is seeking a Principal, People Operations to oversee the transactional and compliance aspects of the employee experience across headquarters and multiple sites. This role is integral to ensuring accurate and defensible records for every hire, change, and exit within the organization. The position is hands-on, supporting a small People team in Miami, Florida, and other locations across several states.
Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, handling HRIS transactions, ensuring multi-state compliance, and maintaining comprehensive employee records. The role also involves preparing termination letters, administering leave of absence with providers, supporting benefits enrollment, and processing payroll-impacting changes. Additionally, the Principal, People Operations will serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, manage audit readiness, and collaborate with various departments to identify and implement process improvements.
Candidates should have over four years of experience in People or HR Operations, with direct involvement in onboarding and offboarding. Hands-on experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, UKG, ADP, Paylocity, or BambooHR is required. Proficiency in I-9 verification and recordkeeping, multi-state U.S. employment administration, and maintaining employee records to audit standards is essential. Intermediate skills in Excel or Google Sheets, discretion with sensitive information, and strong written communication abilities are also necessary.
