Principal Network Engineer
Graphcore is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to oversee and optimize the network fabrics and topologies within its AI data centers. This role is integral to ensuring the high performance and reliability of Graphcore's advanced AI server platforms, contributing directly to the company's mission of driving AI innovation through specialized computing systems.
The Principal Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining all network fabrics and topologies, ensuring they operate at peak performance within Graphcore's data centers. Key duties include primary support of deployed internal fabrics, direct escalation for hardware, link, and performance issues, and triaging day-to-day network topology issues across scale-up, scale-out, and front-end networks. Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with the Network Architecture team throughout the design and development lifecycle to ensure timely, high-quality deployment of high-speed network fabrics.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 9 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, including at least 3 years supporting networking in AI or hyperscale data centers, is required. Expertise in Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA), specifically ROCEv2 or InfiniBand, and knowledge of lossless network technologies such as PFC, ECN, and DCQCN are essential. Experience with high-bandwidth network infrastructures, including operating 400G and 800G network fabrics, and familiarity with data center routing protocols like BGP and OSPF are also necessary.
