Principal Global Employment Counsel
Temporal Technologies is seeking a Principal Global Employment Counsel to lead and expand its employment legal function. This senior individual contributor role reports directly to the General Counsel and collaborates closely with the People team and cross-functional leaders to balance compliance and risk within a rapidly growing organization.
The Principal Global Employment Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor throughout the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, compensation, accommodations, investigations, employee relations, mobility/immigration, and separations, with a strong emphasis on U.S. federal and multi-state requirements. Responsibilities include providing practical, risk-calibrated guidance, leading legal strategies for key employment programs, developing and maintaining policies and scalable processes, supporting international expansion by advising on employment law matters across various jurisdictions, managing and optimizing global Employer of Record (EOR) relationships, and offering guidance on compensation matters, including executive compensation workstreams.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. A minimum of 10 years of experience, including significant in-house experience advising on U.S. and global employment matters across jurisdictions, is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to build scalable policy and process foundations, manage sensitive and complex employee relations matters with discretion, communicate legal risks effectively to non-legal partners, and have working knowledge of global privacy laws related to employee data. A genuine curiosity about technology and a willingness to embrace AI and other tools to enhance legal operations are also essential.
The estimated salary range for this role is $225,000 to $340,000 annually, with eligibility to participate in Temporal’s equity plan. Compensation considers factors such as prior experience, knowledge, expertise, skillset, market location, and job level assessed during the interview process.
