CoreWeave is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead its Benchmarking & Performance team. This role involves managing a global performance data warehouse, focusing on ingesting, storing, transforming, and analyzing performance events across CoreWeave's extensive data centers. The position is pivotal in establishing CoreWeave's leadership in performance reliability within the AI cloud infrastructure sector.

Key responsibilities include defining a multi-year benchmarking strategy and roadmap, prioritizing models and hardware tiers, and leading end-to-end MLPerf Inference and Training submissions. The role also entails designing Kubernetes-native benchmarking services, building CI/CD pipelines for large-scale benchmarks, and collaborating with partners like NVIDIA and the open-source community to co-develop optimizations and upstream improvements.

Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in building distributed systems or HPC/cloud services, with deep expertise in large-scale machine learning training or similar high-performance workloads. A proven track record in architecting planet-scale data systems, deep understanding of GPU performance, and proficiency with Kubernetes and ML control planes are essential. Excellent communication skills for interfacing with executives, customers, auditors, and open-source communities are also required.

The base salary for this role ranges from $206,000 to $333,000, determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. The total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program.
