Okta, a leading provider of identity and access management solutions, is seeking a Principal Data Protection Analyst to join their Security Governance team in Toronto, Ontario. This role is integral to Okta's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) organization, focusing on developing and implementing a cutting-edge data protection program. The Security Governance team is dedicated to establishing secure operations and behaviors, positioning Okta as a global leader in security best practices.

As the Principal Data Protection Analyst, you will be responsible for managing Okta's data protection tool suite, including envisioning, implementing, and maturing data security strategies across the company. Key responsibilities include enforcing data retention policies, authoring and implementing data encryption and obfuscation standards, establishing secure key management practices, enhancing data handling controls, and automating security workflows. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineering, Defensive Cyber Operations, Defensive Cyber Engineering, Legal, and technology and cloud support teams.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in information security focusing on data security and privacy. A strong understanding of data protection principles and technologies is essential, along with experience in network security, endpoint security, and cloud security solutions. Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CDPSE are preferred. Demonstrated experience working in commercial security roles aligned with security compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, PCI) is also required.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $158,000 to $236,000 CAD, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
