The Pricing Manager - Automotive at CarOnSale plays a pivotal role in shaping the pricing strategy of a dynamic and fast-growing automotive marketplace. As part of the Pricing and Revenue team, this role works closely with sales, product, and analytics colleagues to ensure the continued success and competitiveness of CarOnSale in the European online car auction market. The company is known for revolutionizing the way car dealerships and professionals buy and sell vehicles, leveraging technology and data-driven insights for efficient and transparent transactions.
The core responsibilities include developing, optimizing, and executing pricing strategies for the various products and services offered by CarOnSale. The Pricing Manager regularly analyzes large data sets to identify trends, set optimal prices, and maximize both volume and margins. Daily tasks involve pricing analytics, testing and refining pricing rules, delivering actionable insights to the leadership team, and collaborating on cross-functional projects with product and marketing teams to launch new offerings and improve customer experience.
Candidates should bring a strong academic background in business administration, economics, mathematics, or a related field, combined with several years of relevant professional experience in pricing, revenue management, or business analytics, ideally in the automotive or eCommerce sector. In-depth expertise in data analysis, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with BI tools are required, as well as a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are a must, along with professional fluency in both German and English.
