Pre-Litigation Paralegal - Injury
Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm dedicated to protecting individuals against large corporations and insurance companies, is seeking a Pre-Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role involves assisting attorneys in developing settlements and preparing necessary documents and correspondence. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, capable of managing a varied caseload, and possess a customer-focused and empathetic approach.
Key responsibilities include daily interactions with existing and potential clients via telephone and in person, ordering medical records from providers, obtaining documents to support injury and liability positions, and interacting with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances. The paralegal will also work closely with multiple coworkers involved in case file management, maintain organized case files, prepare comprehensive demands for submission to carriers under the supervision of an attorney, and manage case files from intake to closing.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree (preferred) and at least two years of experience in a legal position or as an insurance adjuster. Prior experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager, Pre-Litigation Paralegal, or Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster is strongly preferred. The role requires the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workload with minimal supervision, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Typing speed of no less than 35 words per minute is also required.
