The Portfolio Accounting Manager at Sixth Street will play a pivotal role within the Portfolio Accounting team, supporting investment and accounting activities across private equity, hybrid, and liquid credit funds. This full-time position is based in Dallas, Texas, and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. The role involves collaboration with various teams, including Operations and Fund Accounting, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include recording and reconciling investment and related cash activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and overseeing the reconciliation of these activities with the Funds’ Administrator. The Portfolio Accounting Manager will also assist in producing daily and monthly reports for investment professionals and firm management, contribute to automation and technology initiatives, and maintain efficient internal controls and business processes. Additionally, the role involves identifying and addressing critical accounting and reporting issues, as well as managing special projects and analyses.

Candidates should possess strong written and oral communication skills, a solid understanding of GAAP and industry accounting practices, and a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive approach. The ability to meet time-sensitive business, regulatory, and contractual requirements, along with adept problem-solving skills, is essential. A self-motivated, team-oriented attitude with a focus on driving consensus and achieving desired results is also important.

Preferred qualifications include 6 to 10 years of accounting experience in public accounting (audit or tax), alternative asset or investment management firms, or fund administration. Experience with alternative investments, credit and structured products, private equity, partnership accounting, fund administration, and Advent Geneva is advantageous. Proficiency in investment performance reporting and analytics, as well as strong accounting and Excel skills, are also preferred. Professional certification, such as a CPA or equivalent, is desirable.
