Plumbing & Fire Protection II

CannonDesign is seeking a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer II to join their multidisciplinary team in Buffalo, New York. This role involves designing plumbing and fire protection systems for various projects, including new constructions and renovations in educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.

In this position, you will be responsible for designing piping and equipment for plumbing and fire protection systems, preparing calculations with supervisory review, and creating production drawings from schematic to construction phases. You will also edit specifications, specify equipment such as sprinklers and medical gas systems, and review shop drawings for compliance. Effective communication with clients and project teams is essential, as is participation in value engineering sessions and staff development activities.

Candidates should have a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, with preference for degrees from ABET-accredited programs. A minimum of 4 years of related experience is required, along with a current Professional Engineer (PE) or Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) license in the United States. LEED accreditation is preferred. Proficiency in engineering design programs, such as Revit, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
