Physical Testing Technician

Eurofins BLC is seeking a Physical Testing Technician to join our growing team within the Softlines and Leather division. With over a century of expertise in leather, consumer products, and chemicals, we provide targeted testing and consulting solutions throughout the supply chain. The Physical Testing Technician will be responsible for preparing and testing samples of leathers, textiles, and polymers using a variety of standard physical test methods. Key duties include assessing the durability of shoes and shoe components, conducting flammability tests, reviewing incoming work to ensure correct testing procedures, and compiling data into technical reports. Additional responsibilities involve performing shoe fitting assessments at local nurseries, schools, and clubs, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting commercial teams with technical inquiries.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a positive attitude suited to a fast-paced laboratory environment. While prior experience with textiles, leather, or commercial testing laboratories is advantageous, it is not essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software is required. For shoe fitting assessments, an Enhanced DBS check and a full driving license are necessary; access to a vehicle will be provided. A flexible approach to working additional hours when required is also expected.
