Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our ADAS/Autonomous Driving team. This role focuses on integrating and deploying advanced perception models into our production systems, ensuring robust performance on automotive-grade hardware. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, safety-compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities include deploying and integrating perception models into Lucid's centralized software stack, transitioning experimental components into production-ready modules, and optimizing inference pipelines using techniques such as CUDA, TensorRT, mixed-precision, quantization, and model pruning. The role also involves building CI/CD pipelines for nightly deployments, HIL verification, and KPI reporting, as well as automating data recording, evaluation frameworks, and regression testing for optimized models. Collaboration with ML researchers, software engineers, and hardware/platform teams is essential to ensure seamless integration and support SDK/tooling development. Additionally, the engineer will implement runtime performance metrics, logging, and error reporting to enhance the reliability of the perception stack.

The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in machine learning or software engineering for perception or autonomous systems. Proficiency in C++ and Python, experience with ROS1/2, OpenCV, and GPU acceleration are required. Hands-on experience with ML frameworks like PyTorch and inference optimization tools such as TensorRT and CUDA is essential. Practical experience with at least one compression technique, such as quantization, pruning, or distillation, is also necessary. Experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD, and automated deployment pipelines is preferred. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to execute across research and production teams are crucial.

Preferred qualifications include experience with automotive perception systems and ADAS software stacks, familiarity with automotive safety standards like ISO 26262 and ASPICE, experience deploying INT8/FP16 models and validating accuracy-latency tradeoffs, knowledge of multithreaded scheduling and real-time performance tuning, and a background in SDK/tooling development and automotive customer integration.

Lucid Motors offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including individual and company performance.
