Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert - Africa
The Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert for Africa at Remote is responsible for overseeing payroll compliance within their designated region. This role requires a deep understanding of local employment laws and the ability to translate complex regulations into scalable processes and systems. The expert will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Legal, to ensure that Remote's global payroll platform remains compliant and efficient.
Key responsibilities include leading audits and compliance programs, translating statutory rules into product requirements, and developing processes and governance frameworks that align with both global policies and regional requirements. The expert will also be involved in incident resolution, process design, and knowledge sharing to enhance the compliance capabilities of the organization.
Candidates should possess deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance specific to their country or region, with a strong understanding of how legislation impacts payroll calculations and system logic. Experience in leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs is essential. The role also requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fully remote environment, with strong communication skills to influence stakeholders across various departments.
The annual salary range for this full-time position is $62,400 to $140,400 USD.
