Harbor is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our growing team. As a Payroll Analyst, you will play a crucial role in executing the in-house end-to-end payroll tasks for our UK population. This remote position offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will use your expertise to ensure accurate and efficient payroll and benefit processing, while also supporting our employee experience and regulatory compliance. The successful Payroll Analyst will be a team player comfortable adapting swiftly to changing priorities. This is a remote position that can be worked anywhere in the UK.

In this role, you will coordinate and process multi-country payrolls, with a primary focus on the UK, EMEA, and APAC regions, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness in all transactions. You will handle day-to-day payroll administration and respond to employee questions promptly. Reviewing and verifying payroll data and reports for precision and compliance with local regulations will be essential. Additionally, you will liaise with the finance department on reporting requirements to ensure transparency of payroll changes and ensure the payroll database reflects current and accurate information.

Your responsibilities will include processing all payroll data entries relevant to the employee lifecycle—new hires, salary increases, bonuses, commissions, garnishments, benefit deduction changes, and terminations. You will calculate adjustments, special pays, retroactive payments, and overpayment of wages, issuing manual payments as required. Calculating termination payments in compliance with company policies and local laws will also be part of your duties. Furthermore, you will perform analysis and preparation of payroll-related year-end schedules and forms, ensuring accuracy, and liaise with external vendors and government agencies, such as HMRC, in multiple regions. Reviewing time entry data, managing adjustments, and ensuring all time records are approved will be necessary. You will partner with the Payroll Manager and other internal departments on audit requests and perform other duties as assigned.

To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of two years’ experience in global or multi-country payroll administration, with demonstrated knowledge of pay practices. Knowledge of UK statutory requirements, including PAYE, RTI submissions, SSP, SMP, and year-end reporting (P60s) is essential. You should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized, with strong customer service, communication, and etiquette skills. Proficiency with one or more major payroll/HRIS systems is a plus, and strong mathematical skills, with the ability to perform accurate calculations, are required. Knowledge of local employment laws and regulations, particularly related to pay practices, is important. Strong analytical skills and the ability to determine root causes of issues and propose effective solutions are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel, is expected. You should have the demonstrated ability to generate and analyze complex reports and data, a willingness to learn new programs and skills as needed, and the ability to deal with confidential material with care and sensitivity. Excellent collaboration skills and the proven ability to work effectively within a remote global team structure are crucial.

As a Payroll Analyst at Harbor, you will benefit from a people-first culture that values trust, accountability, and balanced working. In return, you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package, along with the flexibility of remote work from anywhere in the UK. Standard UK hours apply, with some flexibility to support US time zones when needed. There is clear scope for learning and progression within a growing finance team.
