Paralegal
The Paralegal position at Crisp Recruit is designed for individuals passionate about personal injury law and adept at managing complex litigation processes. This role is integral to a boutique law firm specializing in personal injury cases, committed to delivering high-quality legal representation and personalized service. The firm emphasizes professionalism, integrity, and a client-centered approach, aiming to protect clients' rights and guide them through intricate legal matters.
In this capacity, the Paralegal will oversee the litigation calendar, ensuring all critical deadlines and milestones are met efficiently. Responsibilities include proactively scheduling and confirming depositions, hearings, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and other key legal events, as well as drafting and electronically filing various legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, and motions in compliance with New York court standards. The role also involves supporting client communications by providing timely updates, addressing inquiries, and coordinating responses and next steps. Additionally, the Paralegal will assist attorneys by ensuring tasks are completed and no detail is overlooked, contribute to improving firm processes and operational systems, and collaborate with the overseas medical records clerk to acquire and organize necessary documentation for case preparation.
Candidates should possess experience in personal injury litigation and be familiar with New York courts and e-filing systems. Strong, assertive communication skills are essential to hold team members accountable and drive tasks forward. The role requires highly organized multitasking and prioritization capabilities, as well as proficiency with legal technology, case management tools, calendars, and AI-assisted drafting/workflow tools. An interest in growing into broader operational roles within the firm and contributing to process improvements is also desired. The position is based in New York City, with an in-office presence required.
